Rex Orange County Rules Top Alternative Albums Chart With ‘Who Cares?’ – Billboard

Rex Orange County scores his second No. 1 on Billboard‘s Top Alternative Albums chart with Who Cares?, which bows atop the list dated March 26.

In the March 11-17 tracking week, Who Cares? launched with 35,000 equivalent album units, according to Luminate, formerly MRC Data. Of that sum, 20,000 units are via album sales, while 15,000 units are from streaming units.

The previous LP from the English singer-songwriter (born Alexander O’Connor), Pony, also opened at No. 1 on Top Alternative Albums in November 2019.

Who Cares? concurrently starts at No. 2 on Top Rock Albums. On the all-format Billboard 200, it begins at No. 5, marking Rex Orange County’s second top five, following the No. 3-peaking Pony.

Concurrently, nine tracks from Who Cares? dot Hot Rock & Alternative Songs, led by “Open a Window,” featuring Tyler, the Creator. The song debuts at No. 15 on the strength of 3.7 million official U.S. streams.

The album’s lead single, “Keep It Up,” jumps back onto Hot Rock & Alternative Songs at No. 23 (after reaching No. 21) and bullets at its No. 18 high on Alternative Airplay. It also debuts gaming at No. 40 on Adult Alternative Airplay.
