Abbi Jacobson and Jodi Balfour Are Reportedly Engaged

On August 4, Abbi Jacobson walked the red carpet of her new series, A League of Their Own, with her partner Jodi Balfour, and fans immediately noticed that she was wearing what looked like an engagement ring. A source told Entertainment Tonight that they are in fact planning a wedding.
The couple looked stunning in thematically matched pink and red sheath gowns. Balfour wore her caped dress with a pair of heeled boots, one white and one red, and Jacobson wore red closed toe sandals that just peeked out from under her skirt. They both left their hair down and wore a natural makeup palette, though Balfour had a bright pink lip. Don’t know how I got so lucky,” Jacobson wrote in the caption of a selfie where she is kissing Balfour on the cheek.
Jacobson was first seen by a wider audience in her Comedy Central series Broad City and Balfour is known for her role in the Apple TV+ space drama series For All Mankind. Jacobson new role in A League of Their Own pairs her romantically with her longtime friend D’Arcy Carden, which she said made filming the intimate scenes much more comfortable.
“I think it’s actually a little bit easier, once you get past that moment,” news she said. “Because it’s such a weird thing to do on set with, like, a full crew… But when you have the person that you’re doing it with as, like, a safe place, it’s so [much better].”
Jacobson first came out as bisexual in an interview with Vanity Fair in 2018, saying that she “kind of [goes] both ways” adding, “I date men and women,” and that her requirements are that the person “be funny” and is “doing something they love.” Aimée Lutkin is the weekend editor at ELLE.com. Her writing has appeared in Jezebel, Glamour, Marie Claire and more. Her first book, The Lonely Hunter, will be released by Dial Press in February 2022.
