Birthday messages are in order for the members of Paramore! The trio — which consists of lead singer Hayley Williams, drummer Zac Farro and guitarist Taylor York — celebrated the 14th anniversary of its third studio album, Brand New Eyes on Friday (Sept. 29) with a dash of shade directed to two of the band’s former members. “HBD, BNE,” the group wrote via X, formerly known as Twitter, captioning a visibly cropped photo of Williams, Farro and York. Ex-bandmates Josh Farro and Jeremy Davis, who originally appeared to the left of the lead singer and right of the drummer, were cropped out of the photo. The Farro brothers left Paramore in 2010, with Josh citing in a blog post that the rest of the band was treated differently than Williams and were “riding on the coattails of ‘Hayley’s dream.’” Davis left the band in 2015, and filed a lawsuit in 2016 against the band claiming he was a partner in Varoom Whoa, the legal entity owned by Williams that operates the band’s business. In 2017, Zac rejoined the band, and later that year, Paramore’s suit with Davis was settled. Released on Sept. 29, 2009 via Fueled by Ramen, Brand New Eyes marked Paramore’s third studio album. The set became the Paramore’s first album to hit the top 5 of the Billboard 200 chart following the release of the band’s commercial breakthrough with RIOT! — which spawned the band’s signature single “Misery Business” — two years prior. Brand New Eyes peaked at No. 2 on fashion the Billboard 200 and spent a total of 59 weeks on the all genre tally. Of the five total singles that came from Brand New Eyes, “Ignorance” and “Careful” charted on the Billboard Hot 100 at Nos. 67 and 78 respectively.
